1. Electric Power: Salt River Project (SRP)
Roughly 90% of incorporated Queen Creek is powered by Salt River Project (SRP), a community-based, not-for-profit public power utility. SRP rates are generally 10–15% lower than investor-owned APS (Arizona Public Service).
The Two SRP Money-Saving Plans:
SRP EZ-3 Price Plan: Higher energy rates apply only during a 3-hour window on weekdays (either 3 PM–6 PM or 4 PM–7 PM). Energy is discounted during all other 21 hours of the day and all weekend.
Precooling Strategy: Set your thermostat to 70°F from 1:00 PM to 3:55 PM. At 4:00 PM, raise the thermostat to 78°F. Your insulated home will “coast” through the expensive peak window without the AC compressors running.
2. Water & Sewer: Town of Queen Creek vs. EPCOR
Homes inside incorporated Queen Creek receive clean, regulated culinary water and sewer service directly from the Town of Queen Creek Utilities Department.
Subdivisions extending east into Pinal County (such as Encanterra and Ironwood Crossing) or unincorporated county pockets receive water from EPCOR Water, a private utility that acquired the former Johnson Utilities infrastructure. Rates and billing portals are managed independently from Town of Queen Creek accounts.
3. Trash, Recycling & Bulk Pickup
Town of Queen Creek residential trash service is fully automated:
- Tan Cart (Trash): Emptied once per week on your neighborhood’s assigned day.
- Blue Cart (Recycling): Emptied once per week on the same collection day.
- Monthly Bulk Trash: The town provides scheduled curbside pickup of large tree branches, discarded furniture, and cardboard boxes once a month by designated zone.
4. High-Speed Internet: Quantum Fiber & Cox
Queen Creek boasts modern telecommunications infrastructure. All master-planned communities developed after 2017 feature underground fiber conduit directly to the exterior home junction box.
Quantum Fiber (CenturyLink): Offers symmetrical gigabit fiber (up to 940 Mbps download and upload) with unlimited data and no contracts (~$75/month). Ideal for remote software engineers, video producers, and multi-stream households.
